With the Olympics in full swing, we’re learning the stories of unstoppable female athletes who have overcome great obstacles – athletes such as Yusra Mardini of the Refugee Swimming Team and Oksana Chusovitina, the 41-year-old gymnast from Uzbekistan. These women defy odds and break barriers, much like the women featured in Nike’s new “Da Da Ding” video.

The three-minute narrative features female athletes from India, a country where according to the Indian Commission on Women, females face great hurdles in the athletic arena and young girls are discouraged from participating in sports. “Da Da Ding” highlights field hockey player Rani Rampal, sprinter Shweta Hakke, and former badminton player Deepika Padukone, who credit sports for shaping their lives in positive ways. Always a champion of the go girl movement, we love that Nike portrays these women as strong, powerful, and inspirational. With upbeat music and a backdrop that showcases India’s bustling city streets, we want to press play all day.
